Built as a guest cottage to the larger villa behind it, the villa sits in a secluded position dominatiing the spendid views. It is reasonably private and tranquil as it is well below the “line-of-sight” of the house behind it and it is screened by vegetation from the neighbouring villa .

A private infinity-edged swimming pool is convenienntly located, on the same level, just in front of the cottage, where many lazy hours can be spent relaxing in the sun, listening to the waves below or swimming in the pool with a constantly changing seascape as a backdrop.

Access to the villa is via several short sections of steps – (65 in total), interspersed with short walk-ways that lead down from the parking area.

The cottage is all on one level, well designed, ultra-modern in style, compact, with minimalist interior furnishings and fittings which complement the style of the villa. Large patio doors allow the light to flood in to the open plan lounge and kitchen area. The comfortable double bedroom also has patio doors out to the furnished terrace and swimming pool at the front of the villa. A separate, shower room is en-suite to the bedroom. A purpose built barbecue to one side of the house and outdoor table & chairs, mean that a delicious meal “al freso” can be enjoyed whilst admiring those panoramic views.

The renowned “turtle” beaches of Kaminia & Mounda are just a short distance away, with theie respective beach tavernas. The many amenities and attractions of Skala are also just a few kilometres away from this charming & stylish beach cottage.

The quaint & picturesque village of Spartia is just two kilometres away and has a couple of local tavernas, mini supermarket, bakery and a couple of small shops. Spartia’s tranquil beach and rock platforms are located in the oposite direction and they too are less than two kilometres from this lovely cottage.

This gem of a cottage is tucked away at the south-eastern corner of the sweeping crescent-shaped bay that defines Lourdas as one of the island’s finest beach resorts on the south coast. Nestling amongst a Mediterranean garden of brightly coloured bougainvillea and cork oak trees the cottage offers total privacy for sun worshippers and those seeking complete relaxation.

Built on two floors, the front entrance leads into an attractive open plan lounge, dining area and kitchen, which have been decorated in a rustic chic style with comfortable rattan furniture that blends sympathetically with the exposed stone walls. Two sets of patio doors lead out onto the pool terrace, garden and “al fresco” dining area.

Upstairs are two equally charming bedrooms, a double and a twin, both with en-suite shower rooms. Each bedroom has attractive vaulted, exposed pine ceilings and French doors out to a magnificent, wide shaded terrace, from which to admire Lourdas’ spectacular sun sets.

Nestling amongst the olive trees of Old Skala, at the top of its steep private drive, this charming stone cottage enjoys magnificent views. The villa takes its name from the Greek word for “weaver”, as this trade was originally practised on the site and the villa encourages relaxation and the opportunity to escape from modern day pressures. The skilful use of wood and stone together with quality furnishings makes the cottage very comfortable.

The villa is a ‘split level’ design with the twin bedroom upstairs at the entrance level, and the kitchen, lounge, dining area and a double bedroom all on the ground floor with doors leading to the pool and terrace. This charming cottage has a sense of tranquillity and timelessness that envelops you, whether you are in the swimming pool or relaxing on the terrace. The uninterupted panoramic sea views and almost total seclusion provide a home away from home.

Katelios is one of the most delightful villages in Kefalonia. The fresh seafood dishes served in the beachside tavernas (1km) are renowned as being amongst the best on the island and it is all too easy for a leisurely lunch to last long into the afternoon. The gently sloping sandy beach (1km) is unspoilt and lapped by clear shallow water that is great for snorkelling and especially popular with young families while the easy layout of the harbour front is perfect for an evening promenade.

Katelios Bay View is the essence of Greece; its stone clad exterior blending in with the surrounding countryside, and the infinity pool enjoying a fresh blue tint that looks totally natural within its environment. Inside, the charm of this country cottage is immediately apparent. High, wood beamed ceilings and exposed stone and brickwork combine with a splash of neutral colouring to exude a style that is traditional and at the same time light and fresh.

The main living area merges with the kitchen and dining area to create a calming ambience and the interior as a whole is kept pleasantly cool by the thick stone walls. The twin bedroom with en suite shower room and balcony is elegant and comfortable while upstairs, the double bedroom also has an en suite shower room and numerous equally pretty touches.

Buzzing with activity and a contrasting alternative to sleepy Katelios, Skala (7km) is home to a large sandy beach, many traditional and international restaurants plus a large selection of amenities. With vines dating back to the early 18th Century nearby Mavrata is the site of the Metaxas winery where the seventh generation of the family produces a crisp white Robola that is fêted nationwide. Walkers and historians will enjoy the various trails that criss-cross the hills leading past Mycenaean tombs, Roman mosaics and a series of eighteen ancient water mills close to the picturesque village of Ano Katelios in the upper part of the valley.

It is not difficult to see why Lourdas has become one of the most popular beach resorts on the south coast. Clinging to the shoulder of mount Aenos on Kefalonia, whose comforting bulk shelters it from inclement weather and whose lower slopes provide a marvellous vantage point from which to enjoy panoramic sea views. Views which extend over the Ionian sea, to the east, where the Greek island of Zante crouches on the horizon, whilst to the west, the craggy outline of the Liakas peninsula marks the end of the bay.

The area has a number of excellent beaches, often with a choice of tavernas or bars right on the water’s edge, ranging from Lourdas’ own to neighbouring Kanali and Trepazaki. Entrance to the villa is down a short flight of steps to the first floor, where there is a landing that leads to three of the villa’s four bedrooms. The master double bedroom is on the right-hand side and has a private balcony with sea views and an en-suite shower room with a well placed window to enjoy the views whilst showering. A further twin and double bedroom are next door. The twin bedroom, with en-suite shower room and the double bedroom with full en-suite bathroom. Both bedrooms have private balconies with sea views.

Downstrairs is an open-plan lounge, dining and kitchen area. To the right is a bright, modern, lounge area with a fire-place, comfortable suite arranged around a low coffee table and 2 sets of patio doors leading out to a “wrap-around” verandah from which to enjoy the views. The middle section is the dining area with table & chairs and a further 2 sets of patio doors out to the verandah. The well equiped kitchen is to the left of the dining area and has a cleverly designed breakfast-bar. The shaded veranda has both an outdoor suite and an “al-fresco” dining area. Just behind the kitchen on the ground floor, is the delightful fourth bedroom, with twin beds facing patio doors that lead out to the terrace & garden.

Based on an “open plan” design with an atrium in the centre, the villa reflects the style and elegance of Greece’s historic temples.

This magnificent villa is tucked away at the end of a narrow lane and as a result enjoys almost complete seclusion. Bordering the terraces by the swimming pool at the front, to the sides and at the rear, is an extensive, colourful garden, which provides a pleasant blend of carefully landscaped plants and shrubs.

The large infinity-edge swimming pool sparkles alluringly in the sun, an incessant invitation to a refreshing dip. Alternatively, you may choose to recline on a comfortable sun bed beside the sparkling water, from where the eye is drawn to a point where the infinity-edge of the pool meets the horizon, stretching out over the edge of the cliff, towards the island of Zante shimmering in the heat haze.

Built is a classic but contemporary style, over two floors, the atmosphere of an original temple has been retained with the atrium style living space giving access to all the rooms from the centre. Providing every modern comfort, the well placed doors and windows, flood the villa with light, with the lounge, dining, kitchen area and two bedrooms downstairs allowing easy access out to the gardens and terraces. Upstairs, the remaining two bedrooms, all with either en-suite bath or shower rooms are no less comfortable, and all have a terrace or a balcony, from which to admire the peaceful countryside and stunning sea views.
