Luxury Resorts on the Greek Islands

In recent years, a number of high end luxury resorts have opened on the lesser visited Greek islands allowing you to island hop in true luxury and comfort. We feature most of them and here are a couple of options where you can travel in style.

FOLEGANDROS

Gundari Resort opened it's doors last year and has landed like a mothership on this sleepy island that is all about the art of relaxation.
The road from the sleepy harbour village leads up the hill towards Chora, the main town on the island which is dramatically set on the cliff face overlooking the sea.
There are some great food options if you want to try the local cuisine.. Dal Capo in the port is a must visit and in the Chora, check out To Goupi or try the steak of lamb chops at Kritikos Grill House washed down with a glass of Greek red.

An unpaved road takes you to this eco-friendly luxury hideaway that you won't believe is there until it rises up to greet you.
Set in 80 acres of Greek countryside, this self-styled 'raw luxury' retreat features 27 suites and villas with private pools that will satisfy all your needs and the onsite restaurant serves food to soothe your soul.

MILOS

F
or the past couple of years Milos has been the hottest ticket in town for people searching for the ultimate Greek island escape and it many ways it ticks a lot of boxes.
Some of the best beaches..the instagrammable Sarkiniko white rocks..Mandraki and Firopotamas seaside villages and hilltop Plaka fulfil many people's idea of what a Greek island should look like. Queue for a table at Medusa, a small seaside taverna overlooking the sea in Mandraki where the likes of Tom Hanks and Justin Bieber have dined here.

So where to stay? The 'go to' option has to be Domes White Coast Milos with it's perfect sunset location, array of different suites with private pools and seaviews and not one but two pools to either chill out at sunset or rack up invigorating laps before dinner at the hotel's gourmet dining propostion - Makris.

SIFNOS

P
erhaps next on the 'must visit' list, Sifnos is a great value, authentic island experience which has a lot of diverse things to see and do.
From the historic village of Kastro built in a style to hoodwink marauding pirates, to Chyrospigi church, arguably, the most picturesque setting of all the Greek island churches.
The busting island capital of Apollonia offers everything the traveller needs and nearby Artemonas is the most traditional village on the island.

NOS Hotel & Villas is the premier lodging experience on Sifnos and is located in the small harbour town of Faros on the south east coast.
Designed with intimacy, tranquillity and elegance in mind, NÓS is a peaceful hideaway imbued with the island’s gracefulness and handcrafted finesse where guests can enjoy the beautiful natural surroundings in the utmost comfort.

TINOS

Until recently, Tinos was a well kept secret know only to the Greeks themselves but in the past few years, we have sent more and more clients looking for that truly authentic island atmosphere. The small main town offers a cluster of shops and restaurants but to get the most out of Tinos you have to explore the traditional villages or hike the many trails the island offers.

Once you have spent the day travelling the sights of Tinos, then the newest luxury offering to lay your weary head is ODERA which only opened this year and is part of the Autograph Collection by Marriott. Once it has fine tuned it's offering, we are sure that this beachfront resort with its 54 meticulously designed pool suites and 23 rooms, each offering magnificent views of the Aegean Sea will attract those in the know.

IOS

A short 40min ferry hop from Santorini, Ios offers visitors a small but perfectly formed Greek island getaway.
From the port town with a selection of hotels, bars and tavernas you can climb up the steps from the sea to the hilltop Chora with it's winding alleyways full of places to drink, eat and shop in. On the other side of the hill is the long sandy beach of Milopotas. A beach with emerald-coloured water, beach bars, fine sand, water sports, cafes..

Nestled in splendid isolation on the east coast of Ios is CALILO . This 36-suite sanctuary offers an escape from the clamour and the crowds. Think sun-drenched seclusion surrounded by an ancient olive-tree landscape - with nature and art at its heart. It's truly a unique environment.
